Why not try something a little different for your summer (or Christmas Day!) braai. These simple, glazed marinated pork chops or super easy, quick and yummy!
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 Tbs olive oil, plus extra for braai
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp red chilli flakes
- 8 thinly cut (about 2cm thick) pork loin chops (also works really well with pork neck steaks)
In a plastic Ziploc bag, big enough to fit all of the chops, mix together the sugar, honey, oil, lemon juice, paprika and chilli flakes. Add the pork chops into the bag, seal and leave to marinate for at least 20 minutes, but preferably an hour.
Prepare your braai as usual – you are looking to grill the chops over medium-high heat
Once the coals are ready, lightly brush the braai grid with olive oil and remove the pork from the marinade. Place the chops on the grill and cook until grill marks form, about 2 minutes. Rotate the chops 90 degrees, and grill for 2 minutes more, to create diamond grill marks. Flip and cook another 2 minutes. Remove from braai and serve.
